| At first we weren't going
to have any kidfic because for most of us it lacks the dynamic of the heroic
Seven. It thrusts one, two or even three OMC's into the story
while subtracting the same number of canon characters -- for us casting
one of the men as a child doesn't leave much of the original character
so he's turned into an OMC. However two of our members, Milagro
& LovePotion asked to put together a totally separate kidfic page.
The stories here won't be cross-indexed on the character and category
pages although they will be listed under the author's name on the author
list - if the author already has a listing based on an adult fic..
M & LP promised to include only the best and to go easy on the cloying sentiment. The rest of us review the stories only after those two use the edit function to change the kids names to generic kids names. [That's one way to force them to limit themselves to only the best.] They sucked all the Buck and Ezra lovers on the site into approving this page by sending us Nancy W.'s two stories you'll see at the top of the list. It's impossible for a Buck lover not to love Heaven Knows Mr. Wilmington or an Ezra lover to dislike Are We There Yet? Both these stories are told from the POV of the adult character - the pretense that the children are JD and Vin doesn't intrude. The stories would be the same with generic children - both touching and humorous. If kidfic is your cup of tea, try the Little Britches archive. |
