Mushy, Gushy, Gooey & Often Over the Top But Still ...
| This page is for those good stories we originally
tossed because the characters in slash pairings used the kinds of endearments,
that just took them too far from canon characterization for us. It's
not that we think these guys aren't capable of intense feelings of love
and sentiment, we just have our notions about how girlish they'll sound
expressing those feelings. We've also added in some other stories
that have too many tears or public caresses or adoring eyes or emerald/sapphire
orbs or over the top sentimentality for us to believe them as our heroic
action Mag7. A lot of the stories also include Britishisms
which aren't quite right for American men - and we don't think that's a
coincidence - the use of the term "love" to address others rather casually
is very British - but not something our Seven would use (except in KT's
delightful RNLI AU).
There's something about each of these stories that made us want to list them somewhere - even if not on the main pages. You know, the kind of clever language or humor or sexy situations that have you cutting and pasting bits to your friends. So we're including them here. We're aware not everyone will agree with our reactions to some of the mushier fanfic about the Seven and their love lives. We'd be more than willing to post disagreements here. We know we're quirky about canon characterization. These stories are not cross indexed in the character or category pages. |
