These stories all center on one or more of the old west Seven using the known backgrounds, characteristics, speech patterns, etc. from the series - enhanced, extrapolated, detailed, developed and augmented.  Stories in this category include those that ask how these canon characters would react faced with the supernatural or the unexplainable.   How would canon Josiah react if Ezra became a vampire?    How would things have changed if JD had been recruited by less savory gunslingers rather than following the others to the Seminole village?  Old west canon includes stories about how the men's pasts contributed to what they became and stories that suggest how their futures might develop as the west was tamed or the Seven went their separate ways.  There are also a few adult het stories in this mix.

As you all might guess from the fact that these are awards for canon storytelling, this category resulted in more awarded stories than all the others.
