CROSS-OVERS & ADAPTATIONS
AU's are new & original universes for the Seven -other than ATF - Heck, by now ATF doesn't seem like an AU. (Check their bible at: ATF/AU Guidelines.)Cross-overs either have characters from another series, movie etc interacting with the Seven or the Seven transported to the setting of another series etc. whether or not characters from that series appear.
Adaptations "cast" the characters from Mag7 as the existing characters in movies, books etc. - with whatever changes are needed to balance the need of the story for the original characters and the need to have enough of the Mag7 personality show through. Characterizations in Adaptations may not be quite as faithful to series characterization as in other categories.
